The opportunity to support the work of Operational Nightingale at Marne Barracks, Catterrick came about with the combined interests of colleagues. A combination of academic and personal reasons along with the joint belief that archaeology is an open affair provided a strong platform to become engaged with the project . Having spent time in the forces and worked in community arts and social media choosing to be a helper was an easy option especially where the benefits and enjoyments of team work where everyone is equally participating and trusted is well known.
There are numerous groups who wish to run community excavations and we hope that the experiences in community action that the team has can continue to be of use. Please feel free to contact us if you wish to run an excavation, field survey or research project.
