Cammo Canal

Client: Friends of Cammo House

Archaeological investigation was undertaken for 10 days, from the 11th January 2017 to 24th January 2017, on behalf of Friends of Cammo House (Registered Scottish Charity SC033394). Work consisted of supervising a dredging operation and identifying finds, a survey of the canal’s current state of preservation, and a photographic record of the site.

The work was carried out in liaison with Nick Benge, Friends of Cammo House, David Kyles, City of Edinburgh Council Forestry and Natural Heritage Officer, John Lawson, City of Edinburgh Council and Deirdre Cameron, Heritage Directorate of Historic Environment Scotland.
